We buy, sell and rent HGV / LGV specialised trailers.
Half our fleet are semi low loader, extending (and non extendable) step frames and detachable neck low-loaders. They are specialist carrier trailers suitable for a variety of loads including plant, tractor, wings, truss, steel, rail and construction industry transport. As well as these single, double or triple extendible trailers (known also as trombone, teletrailers, multitrailers or just extenders) we also have a large number of standard flat / platform and curtainsiders, plus the shorter urban trailers. Everything on our fleet is for sale. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like more information or to come and have a look round.
The trailers on our large fleet often have multiple self steering axles, hydraulic double flip ramps, beaver tails, wafer decks, override steering and/or detachable necks. Our specialised low loader fleet is mainly comprised of trailers made by Broshuis. We also buy, rent and sell Doll, Faymonville and Nooteboom low-loaders. The large number of flat/platform trailers on our fleet are made by Montracon, SDC, Dennison and others.
From our yard here in the UK at Bawtry, we also offer repairs, re-furbishment, HGV / LGV testing, spares, service, test preparation, tachograph calibration and brake analysis for trucks, trailers, buses, tractor units, lorries and other PCV’s. We are a DVSA Authorised Testing Facility and members of the Heavy Transport Association.
A brief history of John Hudson Trailers Ltd
We are a family company working in the HGV transport industry since the 1950’s. Harold John Hudson started the company in 1959 at Branton as an Albion Truck dealer and soon afterwards we moved to the current Bawtry site. In those early days John would deliver new trucks personally and thenhitch a lift back after the delivery. Our company then grew steadily becoming a Leyland Trucks distributor in the 1970’s. After the merger with DAF in 1987, we decided to concentrate on the sales and hire of trailers. For many years we were known as Trailer Supermarket. Today we have a fleet of over 600 trailers and offer a range of services to the heavy goods vehicle and abnormal load industry. We are a privately owned company and the directors are all still family members.
